千燈之夜--千萬不要小瞧了學(xué)生會
學(xué)生會是在學(xué)校黨支部領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下、校團(tuán)委指導(dǎo)下的學(xué)生自治組織,“服務(wù)同學(xué)”是它的宗旨,提倡自我管理,主動參與學(xué)校與學(xué)生的各項(xiàng)管理工作,教師的工作不是簡單地“教”學(xué)生如何做某事。還必須始終努力向有好奇心的學(xué)生展示如何在現(xiàn)實(shí)世界中運(yùn)用生活技能,引導(dǎo)他們創(chuàng)造性地策劃、協(xié)助舉辦豐富多彩的校園活動。學(xué)生會是學(xué)校與學(xué)生的橋梁和紐帶,是學(xué)生在校園成長的主要舞臺。
【The Student Union Activities Club 學(xué)生會活動部】 Adam Jones 力邁德育處副主任
In mid-October of 2020, I was teaching Human Geography to Fairmont grade 11 when I mentioned that Limai would be having a haunted house for Halloween. I myself was charged with planning the haunted house this year, and I was keen for suggestions on how to decorate the house. I had been wrestling in my mind out what themes I should use that would be appropriate for the haunted house, and I asked my students if they had any ideas. The students ears perked when I asked the question, and their eyes were wild with ideas for the haunted house. Within one 45 minute class period, the students had planned all 4 themes for each room of the haunted house.
2020年10月中旬,我在費(fèi)爾蒙特11年級教人文地理時(shí),和學(xué)生提到力邁萬圣節(jié)將搭建一個(gè)鬼屋。我負(fù)責(zé)今年的鬼屋規(guī)劃工作,我很想從學(xué)生們那里得到關(guān)于如何裝飾鬼屋的建議。我一直絞盡腦汁,想我應(yīng)該用什么主題來裝飾鬼屋,于是,我問學(xué)生們他們有什么想法,當(dāng)我問這個(gè)問題時(shí),學(xué)生們的耳朵都豎了起來,他們的眼神告訴我他們有很多想法。在45分鐘的時(shí)間里,學(xué)生們?yōu)楣砦莸囊?guī)劃了4個(gè)主題。
After class I quietly wondered to myself - if these students of Fairmont 11 had so many great ideas for planning events - what about the rest of the students at Limai? I also thought back to my own high school days in America, where the Student Union students would actively plan events at my high school and implement our ideas. In all my years at Limai, there was no equivalent organization to my high school club. Of course we had a Student Union at Limai, but they didn’t plan events. Event planning, was simply not part of the Student Union culture.
下課后,我靜靜地想,如果費(fèi)爾蒙特11年級的這些學(xué)生有那么多計(jì)劃活動的好主意,那么力邁的其他學(xué)生呢?我還回想起自己在美國上高中時(shí),學(xué)生會的學(xué)生們會積極策劃學(xué)校的活動,實(shí)現(xiàn)學(xué)生們自己的想法。在力邁,沒有類似于我高中時(shí)期的學(xué)生組織。當(dāng)然,我們在力邁有一個(gè)學(xué)生會,但他們之前沒有參與學(xué)?;顒拥牟邉潯;顒硬邉?,還不屬于學(xué)生會文化的一部分。
That mid-October day I set off to see if I could replicate what many schools in the west have. That is, a club made up of students that plan and organize events on campus. I went around campus asking students if they would be interested in planning and executing their own events. The feedback was swift and positive, and within a month the Student Union Activities Club was born.

The concept was entirely new to the students . Our Student Union members were largely accustomed to being told which direction to take - what I was asking, was for the students to pave their own way in the form of developing activities and events to hold on campus. A change in this mentality, from producing those that can follow directions to those that can create direction, I knew, would not be easy. However difficult it may be, I knew the benefits to students would be numerous. This sort of society of organizers and planners instills in students a sense of self-discipline and leadership - it cultivates creativity and imagination, and rewards an adventurous and industrious self-starter. These are life skills. Not learned in a book, rather learned only by doing.

I announced to the Student Union members that we would be creating a new club made of student organizers creating and planning events, the Student Union Activities Club. More than a dozen students volunteered, and then we had our first meeting.

In early December we already had our first event, and a rather daunting project at that. We set off on planning Limai’s first ever Winter Prom for grades 7-12. Not only did Limai now have our first student led club, now this first ever club was tasked with planning and executing our first ever prom. Upon conception, I had my doubts. However this first ever group of students who volunteered to pioneer Limai’s first ever party planning club would go on to amaze me. With teacher direction, the students set off on their first project - the Winter Prom.

Using their own unique skill sets, the students worked with their strengths to plan what would become an amazing student organized event. A student from grade 9 who had an interest in marketing and Photoshop handled the promotion of the Winter Dance by designing invitations, posters and banners. A student skilled in videography set off to make an opening video that would be played to open the Prom. Students with an interest in audio engineering volunteered to work the sound board during the performances. This amazing body of students worked with their individual gifts and strengths to create a community of developers that worked as a team to ensure our shared project would be a prom night the students all would remember.

And that it was. With nearly 4 weeks of tedious and constant planning, the students showed initiative, great creativity, organization and motivation in planning the schools first ever prom. The night was delightful. The students helped organize and plan 5 dance performances from the teachers and students, along with one music performance to begin the night. Students who attended the Prom received gift bags and private tables in the auditorium with flowers and lit candles under a ceiling of twinkling lights representing the stars. The students organized a professional DJ along with snacks and 3 raffles.

Each Student Union Activities Club member had a role during the Prom. From guiding students to their seats, to working the sound boards. The task I gave these students was not easy, planning Limai’s first ever prom. However, I could not have been more proud of the product these dedicated students crafted. The success of the Winter Prom was the success of the Limai Student Union Activities Club members. It was the students night. For the students, made by the students. In this founding of the activities club also comes an important reminder to us as teachers and educators. It is not the job of a teacher to simply “teach” how to do something. We must also always strive to show our curious students how to perform life skills in the real world. We mustn’t simply give our students a fish - we must show them how to fish.
每個(gè)學(xué)生會活動部成員在冬季舞會上都有一項(xiàng)工作。從引領(lǐng)學(xué)生到他們的座位,到操作音樂控制器。我交給這些學(xué)生的任務(wù)并不容易。然而,我對這些學(xué)生的表現(xiàn)感到無比自豪。冬季舞會的成功是力邁學(xué)生會活動部成員的成功。那是學(xué)生之夜。由學(xué)生組織學(xué)生的活動。在這次活動中,學(xué)生會活動部的成立也給我們作為教師和教育工作者帶來了重要的啟示。教師的工作不是簡單地“教”如何做某事。我們還必須始終努力向有好奇心的學(xué)生展示如何在現(xiàn)實(shí)世界中運(yùn)用生活技能。我們不能簡單地給學(xué)生一條魚——我們必須教他們?nèi)绾吾烎~。

The Limai Student Union is a mass organization made up of the students themselves. It is an organization that bridges the gap between the school and the students. The Student Union helps students increase the development of skills that are beneficial to learning such as social practice, volunteer service, and other activities to create a good style of study and school spirit while maintaining a good teaching order and learning and living environment. The Limai Student Union, which is composed of two major parts: the management department and the activity department, enables me to use my abilities, exercise myself, and better reflect my personal value.
力邁學(xué)生會是學(xué)生自己的群眾性組織,是學(xué)校與學(xué)生溝通的橋梁和紐帶。學(xué)生會通過開展有益于同學(xué)身心健康的學(xué)習(xí)、社會實(shí)踐、志愿者服務(wù)、等活動,來創(chuàng)造良好的學(xué)風(fēng)、校風(fēng),維護(hù)良好的教學(xué)秩序和學(xué)習(xí)、生活環(huán)境。力邁學(xué)生會由管理部和活動部兩個(gè)大的部分組成,進(jìn)入到學(xué)生會工作,可以使我發(fā)揮自身能力,鍛煉自己,更好地體現(xiàn)自己的個(gè)人價(jià)值。
Being apart of both departments in the Student Union at the same time improved my ability to deal with things, but also improved my adaptability and leadership ability. As a member of the student union, I am in charge of the club department. I go to supervise and attend each club every day, teach students who do not follow the class, and publish the club summary on the public account at the end of each week. Due to the rich extracurricular life in the school, this is a huge and complicated project. With the Winter Dance, I was responsible for guiding the students and helping them find their sits at the dance.
本學(xué)期,學(xué)生會舉辦了籃球比賽與千燈之夜的冬季舞會。這兩個(gè)大項(xiàng)目的舉辦不僅提高了我的處事能力,更提高了我的應(yīng)變能力與領(lǐng)導(dǎo)能力。作為學(xué)生會的一員,我負(fù)責(zé)社團(tuán)部門,每天去監(jiān)督和考勤各個(gè)社團(tuán),對不遵守課堂的同學(xué)進(jìn)行教導(dǎo)并在每周結(jié)束發(fā)表社團(tuán)總結(jié)在公眾號上。由于學(xué)校課余生活豐富,所以這是一項(xiàng)龐大而復(fù)雜的工程,但這項(xiàng)工作正可以體現(xiàn)我對于工作嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)認(rèn)真的態(tài)度以及對待同學(xué)有耐心,有真心和有愛心。在這次舞會中,我負(fù)責(zé)指引同學(xué),幫助同學(xué)找到自己的位置。
This was not an easy task. As students arrived at the Winter Dance, the classmates and friends all congregated together and did not know where to go. This caused a lot of work for me at a hectic time. However, I refused to give up and finally mastered the seating plan and divided the classmates sitting together not in their designated seats. This work has exercised me in turning complicated things into something that went smoothly. Through determination, I was able to organize activities well, and answer all student’s questions during the activities. I am most proud of making students have a good experience during the Winter Dance.
短時(shí)間內(nèi),同學(xué)們和朋友們都聚集起來,導(dǎo)致了我的工作量很大,但經(jīng)過我一遍又一遍的不懈努力,終于熟練的把座位表牢記心中,并把坐一起的同學(xué)們分成一組帶到指定位置。這份工作鍛煉了我把紛繁復(fù)雜的事情變得有規(guī)律了起來,變得順暢了起來,變得輕松了起來。能夠很好的組織活動,在活動中解答每個(gè)同學(xué)的疑惑,并且使同學(xué)們有良好的活動體驗(yàn)是我覺得最驕傲的地方。
Throughout my high school years, the Student Union not only carried my dream, but also exercised my abilities and enriched my experience. In this regard, I want to thank the school for trusting me with this position, and giving me this opportunity to prove myself. Secondly, I want to tell all parents that the Student Union is an organization that helps students realize their dreams. It is a platform to enhance one’s social space and is a base to exercise ones own growth. Finally, I want to say to the younger students, live these best years of your life without regret. Society must favor those who dare to possess high levels of morale and have an unyielding spirit. As long as you know where you want to go, the whole world is yours.
在我的成長生涯當(dāng)中,學(xué)生會不僅承載著我的夢想,更鍛煉了我的能力,豐富了我的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。對此,首先我想感謝學(xué)校對我能力的信任,給了我這個(gè)鍛煉的機(jī)會,使我可以展現(xiàn)自己。其次我想告訴各位家長,學(xué)生會是一個(gè)可以讓同學(xué)們實(shí)現(xiàn)自己夢想的舞臺,是一個(gè)提升自己社交空間平臺,是一個(gè)鍛煉自己成長的基臺。最后,我想對學(xué)弟學(xué)妹們說,請?jiān)谧詈玫哪耆A里做讓自己無悔的事,社會一定是青睞那些敢于面對的人—他們有著昂揚(yáng)的斗志和不屈的精神。你們一定會在某個(gè)普通的一天脫穎而出。只要你知道自己想去哪,并為之努力,全世界都會為你讓路。
【堅(jiān)持所熱愛的】------胡佳琪
做為學(xué)生會成員,我們在學(xué)校布置萬圣節(jié)活動現(xiàn)場,營造了貼合節(jié)日的氣氛,在每一場籃球賽中幫助團(tuán)隊(duì)計(jì)分,維持現(xiàn)場秩序,為運(yùn)動員們營造好的比賽氛圍;和同學(xué)們一起策劃學(xué)校冬季舞會,為同學(xué)們精心挑選禮物,布置舞會現(xiàn)場;大家一起齊心協(xié)力做好學(xué)生會工作,不僅豐富了同學(xué)們的課外活動,提高了學(xué)生的生活品質(zhì),激發(fā)大家積極向上的生命熱情,也為同學(xué)創(chuàng)造了更好的交流,娛樂和展現(xiàn)自我的平臺。
同時(shí)我也學(xué)到了如何更好的和老師和同學(xué)溝通協(xié)商問題,提高了自己的團(tuán)隊(duì)合作能力,綜合實(shí)踐能力,我做的工作也增進(jìn)了外方老師們和同學(xué)們的友誼。
在我整個(gè)的成長生涯中,學(xué)生會承載了我的夢想,感謝老師給予機(jī)會,讓我磨煉自己,擁有一個(gè)展現(xiàn)自我能力的平臺。教會我很多實(shí)用的知識,給予我很多鼓勵(lì)和幫助,教會我更好的溝通方式和團(tuán)結(jié)的重要性。 同時(shí)也感謝父母把送我來到這所兼容并褒的學(xué)校,讓我在這個(gè)快樂學(xué)習(xí)的地方,有更多開拓視野的機(jī)會增長知識與見識?!?/p>
我也想對學(xué)弟學(xué)妹們說: “任何一個(gè)美好的愿望,想要變成現(xiàn)實(shí),都要我們付出不懈的努力和奮斗,鍛煉分析問題獨(dú)立思考的能力,剖析自己的不足 ,有時(shí)候大家會有迷茫,也會有覺得不夠滿意的地方,既然選擇了,就要堅(jiān)持下去,不留任何遺憾,很多時(shí)候我們需要改變自己,能夠堅(jiān)持自己所熱愛的人一定會有無限的可能?!?/p>
【自我成長的意義】 ----索一貝
作為一名學(xué)生會成員,定然要踴躍參加學(xué)?;顒?,從開學(xué)初的開學(xué)典禮乃至學(xué)期末的冬季舞會,期間無數(shù)活動接踵而至,而最令我印象深刻的是詩詞大會。武老師帶領(lǐng)我們從策劃,到修改,從布置,到篩選,從彩排,到展示,一次一次修改,一次次排練,才達(dá)到了最后的結(jié)果,在這次活動中,我既作為一名在臺下幫助老師同學(xué)的”工作人員”,也是一名在臺上努力競爭的”參賽人員”。這次活動,我認(rèn)為證明自己的能力不是最重要的,培養(yǎng)自我更踏實(shí)認(rèn)真的性格,發(fā)揮出自己最大價(jià)值才是重中之重。
本次冬季舞會的舉行方式是十分特別的,學(xué)生會活動部的成員都為此次活動出謀劃策,從選禮物開始,同學(xué)們合理分配預(yù)算,帶有?;盏男⌒芡媾?,太空燈,手表,巧克力等豐富的物品。宣傳時(shí),在大廳有小推車,擺放著千燈之夜的宣傳卡,也迎來了許許多多熱忱的學(xué)生來幫忙。舞會開始時(shí),老師與學(xué)生的演出博得了大眾的眼球,節(jié)目之間穿插的抽獎環(huán)節(jié)動人心弦,包括我也是幸運(yùn)兒中的一份子,學(xué)校請來了DJ來烘托氣氛。
本次活動最值得驕傲的是同學(xué)們眾志成城,團(tuán)結(jié)一心,沒有他們的好點(diǎn)子,也就沒有這么愉快的冬季舞會,所以每一個(gè)人都是重要的,不可或缺的。其中也有困難發(fā)生,經(jīng)過協(xié)調(diào),最終沒有耽誤演出。本次同學(xué)互幫互助,DJ老師的到來跟進(jìn)了時(shí)代的潮流,烘托了氣氛。達(dá)到了讓人輕松愉快的境界,我認(rèn)為應(yīng)向每一位成員學(xué)習(xí),增強(qiáng)自己的能力;
進(jìn)入學(xué)生會以來我得到了莫大的鍛煉,老師們對我的諄諄教誨使我受益匪淺,學(xué)生會是提高學(xué)生綜合水平的地方,激發(fā)自己的潛力,幫助老師和同學(xué),與大家一起共同成長。
【自我價(jià)值的實(shí)現(xiàn)】-------學(xué)生會新媒體部高慶喆
作為一名新媒體人,我運(yùn)用手中的器材記錄下盡可能多的校園生活片段,并試圖去找到鏡頭之間的聯(lián)系,做出讓自己滿意的作品。由自己寫稿,錄制,剪輯的視頻《Li Mai 1 minute》也在冬季舞會上呈現(xiàn)了出來。和大家分享這一分四十四秒背后的一百四十四小時(shí)。
剛收到這個(gè)任務(wù)的時(shí)候,我腦子里一片空白,老實(shí)說,我根本不知道應(yīng)該做一個(gè)什么樣的視頻,我是從公立學(xué)校轉(zhuǎn)來的國際學(xué)校,從來沒有這樣的機(jī)會可以給學(xué)校做一個(gè)視頻,所以在構(gòu)思階段我耗費(fèi)了很多時(shí)間,寫了無數(shù)個(gè)視頻腳本,至今還在備忘錄里存著。后來,在一名好友的提示下,我選擇了做最擅長的音樂視頻。距離冬季舞會還有兩周不到的時(shí)間內(nèi),要完成一百到兩百個(gè)鏡頭的拍攝,并把他們剪在一起,對齊音軌,添加特效,添加轉(zhuǎn)場還有很多其他工作,這令我非常抓狂,那段時(shí)間基本上一周七天,我有八天都在學(xué)校,走讀生里去的最早,走得最晚。不過好在冬季舞會前兩天完成了整個(gè)視頻的制作。在把視頻u盤交給老師的那一刻我如釋重負(fù)。視頻在冬季舞會當(dāng)晚收獲了很高的評價(jià),在視頻播放后全場響起掌聲的時(shí)候,我體會到了一種從未有過的感覺,一種無法描述,無法表達(dá)的情感,即使我仍然認(rèn)為不夠完美。
人們總說攝影是遺憾的藝術(shù),美好轉(zhuǎn)瞬即逝,你無法記錄下每一刻,不過對我來說這正是攝影的魅力,正是因?yàn)樗倪z憾,你才會去學(xué)習(xí)后期完善你的作品,正是因?yàn)樗倪z憾,你才會設(shè)計(jì)構(gòu)圖記錄下最美的一面,也正是他的遺憾,你才會憧憬每一個(gè)下一次。這是攝影教會我的道理,加入學(xué)生會也是這個(gè)原因,在這里,我和學(xué)校各方面的精英們學(xué)習(xí),鍛煉自己提高綜合能力,積累更多有價(jià)值的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。
我不是一個(gè)墨守成規(guī)的人,更不是一個(gè)傳統(tǒng)意義上的好學(xué)生,如果把我的經(jīng)歷比作一篇文章,那一定是一篇沒有標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號無法閱讀的鬼畫符,加入學(xué)校的學(xué)生會就是這段鬼畫符的終止符,我相信在這里能學(xué)到的,是我人生中最珍貴的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。最后送給大家一句話,“人生不是書里編寫的故事,不會完美無缺,但我們卻可以改寫自己的故事,彌補(bǔ)自己的遺憾。 ”
